About MeClinical Work
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has lived and worked in Marin County for twenty years. Throughout that time, I have helped people achieve their goals, enrich their lives, and feel more connected in the world. I am known for my ability to build rapport with clients quickly and get to the heart of the issue effectively. I work with people of all ages including couples and families. |
I specialize in issues related to chronic and/or terminal illness. I am experienced in working with death and dying and related issues including grief.
Volunteer Experience
My volunteer work in the community has deepened my clinical skills, enriched my life, and taught me many things. I am grateful to have received joint training as a pet therapist from the Marin Humane Society and the Hospice by the Bay organizations. In recent years, I have brought my dog to locations throughout the county, providing support to ill and dying patients of diverse ages and backgrounds.I am proud of the work I continue to do for the non-profit organization "Compassion and Choices". I educate organizations and people about the End Of Life Option Act recently passed into law in California.
Business Experience
Before becoming a therapist, I had my own business for 20 years. As manager and owner of the firm, I helped over 1000 building and construction professionals prepare for state licensing exams and move forward in their careers.
As a therapist today, I use the insights gained from my business experience to better understand my clients and assist them in meeting life's challenges.
Education and Professional Activities
My education includes a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Meridian University in Petaluma and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from California State University in Fresno.
I am an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists-(CAMFT), Marin County chapter. My MFT license number is 82028.
Interests
My interests outside of work fall into two categories, subjects I enjoy pursuing and physical activities I enjoy performing. In the first category, my interests include music, reading, films, and travel. In the second category, I enjoy hiking, swimming, skiing, bicycling, practicing yoga, and zentangling. Walking my dog each day brings me special pleasure.
